Which head spa session should I book?

Book the 60-minute session (from $145) for a first visit or regular scalp care, 90 minutes (from $190) for more massage on the head, neck and shoulders, and the 110-minute combo (from $215) to add a customized facial.

What happens during a Japanese head spa?

Your esthetician checks the scalp on a camera, cleanses it at the head spa basin, massages the scalp, head, neck and shoulders, rinses with warm water and checks the scalp again. Hair is lightly blow-dried at the end, mostly dry with a natural finish.

  1. Scalp camera check

You see your scalp on a magnifying camera before the treatment starts.

  2. Deep scalp cleanse

The scalp is cleansed at the head spa basin to remove product buildup.

  3. Massage and warm water

Massage for the scalp, head, neck and shoulders, with the warm-water ritual.

  4. Second check and finish

A camera check to compare, then a light blow-dry. A full professional blow-dry can be added.

Who is the Japanese head spa for?

It suits people who carry tension in the head, neck and shoulders, who want to clear product buildup from the scalp, or who want a relaxing treatment for themselves or as a gift. It is not a medical treatment for scalp conditions or hair loss.

A good fit if you

  • carry stress in the scalp, neck or shoulders
  • use styling products and want the scalp clean of buildup
  • want regular scalp maintenance, not only a haircut
  • are looking for a gift or a treatment to share as a couple

Not the right choice if you

  • have an active scalp infection, open wounds or a diagnosed scalp condition: see a dermatologist first
  • are looking for hair loss treatment: talk to a doctor
  • only need a cut or color: book the hair salon instead

FAQ

Questions about the Japanese head spa

Will my hair be wet when I leave?

No. Every head spa ends with a light blow-dry that leaves hair mostly dry with a natural finish. A full professional blow-dry can be added when you book.

What is the difference between the 60, 90 and 110-minute sessions?

All include the scalp cleanse, warm-water ritual, scalp care and massage. The 90-minute session adds massage time for the head, neck and shoulders, and the 110-minute combo adds a customized facial.

How much does it cost?

60 minutes from $145, 90 minutes from $190, combo from $215, men’s 60 minutes $130. Reference prices as of Sep 2026; the final price is confirmed at booking.

Do I need to wash my hair before?

No. The treatment starts with a deep scalp cleanse. Come without heavy styling products if you can, so the first camera check shows your scalp as it is.

Is there a Japanese head spa for men?

Yes. The men’s 60-minute session is $130. See the men’s spa page for other services.

Can couples book together?

Yes. The Couples Half Day and Couples Stay the Day packages can include the head spa for both guests.

Does the head spa treat hair loss?

No. It cleanses and relaxes the scalp. For thinning hair, talk to a doctor first; the Pro-Cell scalp treatment on the microchanneling page is a separate service.

How is it different from the salon scalp treatment?

The salon scalp treatment is a 30-minute add-on to a hair visit ($50). The head spa is a full appointment dedicated to the scalp, with the camera check and a longer massage.
